Fast Dial Version 2.15-6 (NOT 2.15 beta 6)

_______________________________________________________________
It could I think be argued that Fast Dial Version 2.15-6 (NOT 2.15 beta 6) is a superior Version of Fast Dial to 2.15 beta 5 or 7 or 8.
It pre-dates Fast Dial 2.15 beta 5 in spite of it's number.
This Version if you want was a direct developement from Fast Dial 2.14 with bugs being resolved and lots of detailed improvements being made in Preferences
So it was a work-in-progess Version being developed by telega, mafi0z, and myself
It differs from v2.14 in so much that there is no longer a search bar
---
I am very attached to this Version and would like to make it better known.
The main reason for wanting to share this Version is to show the excellent Preferences and Properties Menus

Thanks for the link Mafia_Penguin
For those who do not wish to see Favicons all the time, or for that matter help or Fast Dial logo please see here
---
Bugs
There are a number of bugs, but this Version is still useable
Bug 1.
Hit the FD toolbar button and you get a copy of the root with a back cell
Solution don't use the FD button.
This is not noticeable on a normal Firefox boot up.
Bug 2
If you select in Preferences, in "open in", other than default or current Tab, the back cell will not show in any folder.
Bug 3
If you run Tab Mix Plus with this Version the Home button ceases to work.
Bug 4
But not only to this Version, if you use IE Tab address bar ceases to function
---
Seem to be more important bugs in Ubuntu
Can't create Folder
Logos will not save
---
Improvements on 2.14
Autohide settings highly configurable by user in Preferences.
Includes the ability to disable Autohide.
Ability to load the back arrow of ones choice to the back arrow cell.
This is great. Makes one able to configure one's Fast Dial exactly to one's own wishes.
Add to Fast Dial in Main context Menu now works perfectly.
That is all folders are shown.
To save to the root folder click on the words "add to Fast Dial"
Perfect
---
Preferences
1. to select transparent as a colour, right click color setting.
This is a tremendous improvement. Set up your page in seconds. Watch it change in front of your eyes. Brilliant.
2. to clear any custom image right click on the the three dots ... and the image will be gone.
Fast. Useful.
3. in general/thumbnail one can increase the cell number simply by clicking on the small arrows. No longer a drop down menu with a maximum of 10.
This is very useful. Saves messing around typing in numbers and making mistakes.
---
You will also notice a small help button top right, as well as a Fast Dial logo bottom right.
This was all work-in-progress to improve Support.

Many thanks

Submitted by Pedro Lino on Sat, 12/20/2008 - 18:35The one Setting that is missing in the Preferences dialog is the sort option.
And since sorting is on by default you can't have empty slots or move your icons to your liking...
Please add this Setting back...

Looking good !
@Pedro Lino
The one Setting that is missing in the Preferences dialog is the sort option.
And since sorting is on by default you can't have empty slots or move your icons to your liking...
Please add this Setting back...
I agree 100%.
One should have the option to disable sort.
It really messes up moving the cells around
Really frustrating
Especially if one has no need of sort at all.

How come that you have other Logos then.
I don't understand.
Were they loaded in v2.14 or what ?
Re: Fast Dial Version 2.15-6 (NOT 2.15 beta 6)
Submitted by jmarkybb on Sun, 12/21/2008 - 05:34My test Profile is running 2.9,
Thats what I got when I downloaded FD from Mozilla Addons
When you told me to drag and drop, I just draged XPI in to FF, did not think as to which one it was.
I got a bit giddy
The Logos were loaded in io this profile which was running 2.14.
Sorry for the confusion
