Background refresh possible?

Hey, i really like the FastDial Addon but there is one thing it would be really nice to have.
Is it possible to refresh the Background every.. 100Msecs?
I want to set my Desktop as background for Fastdial. So i have to refresh that Background everytime.
Is that possible?
Greetings

In your earlier pictures there was just the anime background to deal with.
I think that is why I was confused for a moment.
I had thought before we were talking about simply the background and the logos, and now there are these other elements..
Are you pleased ?
It must be very difficult to make work with all this complexity...
Transparency is more straightforward !!!

Submitted by tsuyo on Thu, 04/01/2010 - 07:15I dont want Transparency. THAT transparency i want is too much for the Firefox. So i cannot read my Bookmarks anymore and so on.
I have implemented now my Full desktop behind Firefox. It's like Transparency. But without any effecting Transparency :)

You are in a way more interested in constructing a series of coexisting visible layers than in transparency as such.

in my opinion all your attempts to fast update desktop background with shortcuts is not very good and too costly in terms of productivity and in terms of usefulness.
much more efficiently use the transparency (pitaschio). it's easier and more useful.
would be interesting to see how your way of looks from the not maximized window of firefox. ;)

this is all the more strange.
i don't think this is a very good idea, since on a weak computer freezes are very strong. i will not believe that it works very quickly. can be activated when the videocard in the drawing a whole image (as in IE9), it will be less noticeable.
also i don't understand why it all?
do you sit and look at the window with fastdial? ;)
fastdial only for easy transition to your favorite sites. there is no any working environment.

Submitted by tsuyo on Thu, 04/01/2010 - 13:25It does not Freeze down.
The Application uses Multithreading.
The App takes 8MB ram.
I just like the Background like my Desktop. I learned alot in Windows API and Gdi, It makes fun to code it. And i learn alot. So whats the Problem :) ?
Sure i will release that thing someday. "I coded that thing for me, not for public" means that i first coded it for me, and at the start i have not taken a look at the Public when starting developing it.

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Mon, 04/05/2010 - 00:37Interesting debate.... :-)
Have been using Pitaschio for a little while now.
And enjoy immensely.
However I can see that it has limitations in regard to viewing the desktop.
For the more you see of Desktop, the less you see of the application that you are in...
It is just perfect and wonderful for arriving though, through real transparency, at a mix between the image of the desktop and Fast Dial (and other) pages.
Especially as one can alter the degree of transparency so easily
In this way it serves a different job to your application and is in a specific way of greater interest to those who are fascinated by transparency
If I were able to run your program, I would be very interested to discover it's advantages, disadvantages..
I remain like jumpordie curious as to the use of such a set up, but this can only really be understood on use.
I guess though that your Desktop would change little while you are on Fast Dial.... ?
So I remain unclear about the need for the speed of the update.
Even if you were running music or a video on the desktop, I can see no great utility in you system unless all your logos were transparent and you were simply able to watch your video/sound player and then if you were in the mood, hit on a Fast Dial cell.... :-)
But in that case, a tiny application that would allow to access the windows toggle switch to the desktop would also have been almost as useful...
I remain of course impressed by your ingenuity, and would not like to discourage you in any way from exercising it ... :-)
I keep thinking of the need for certain applications and think, I bet tsuyo could get that to work... :-)
Look forward to hearing about your developement, and being able to test drive a beta...
many thanks

Submitted by tsuyo on Mon, 04/05/2010 - 03:21Hey, The Good Thing in it is, i have now fully Access to my Desktop. Now i can make Screenshots of it, even if games are maximized over it. Now i can play with it.
The Desktop will not change a bit. My application Checks if the Mozilla Title is Fast Dial - Mozilla Firefox. If its True, it makes 1 Screenshot. Then my Plugin takes that Screenshot as the Background of Fastdial.
I have not tested it with videos, but i think it'll not work so fast.
