Re: FD 3.5 problems
Submitted by tunico2010 on Tue, 07/19/2011 - 21:08FD 3.5 is great for me until now.
It is running well like in the 3.4 version in previous version of Firefox.
I think that you could develope a new function: a way for restore the setting of an old version. So I would not need to set everything again.
In my Netbook, when I changed the version of Firefox I also needed the 3.5 version of FD. Automatically the old setting of FD have been restored in the first activation.
For my Desktop I had a crash with Win 7 and it was necessary a new install for everything.
I installed Firefox 5.01 and I attempted to use Fast Dial 3.4 that didn't work.
So I installed Fast Dial 3.5. Unfortunately my old setting was not restored automatically.
How could I manually restore the setting of previous version (before crash) since I have a HD' total Backup?
Thank you.

I have win7, FF 5.0 and the latest version of FD.
My Fastdial page is blank. When I go into the FD settings page, all the values are 0. When I try to change them to something else, and close the settings page, the settings are not saved.
Thanks

Submitted by c-shark on Thu, 07/21/2011 - 12:23I think the problem (with the transparency) is where the Fast Dial (or the Firefox) caching the thumbnals.
If I overwriting the cached file in c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[unique id].default\fastdial\cache\ with the original one, but keep the name what caching engine gives it, it works fine.
I am not good in JS, so i can't find the exact location of bug (maybe in firefox engine).

You are absolutely right
here is the bug report on Bugzilla
So far no testcase though :-(
Re: FD 3.5 problems
Submitted by c-shark on Fri, 07/22/2011 - 06:17I'm found something.
In snapshot.js in function loadLogo(), if I change the line
doc.body.style.background = "rgba(0,0,0,0)";
to
doc.body.style.background = "red";
then the thumbnail got a red background.
So context.drawWindow() is works fine, draws the transparency, but it draws the background (which is somehow not transparent) to the output image too.
Re: FD 3.5 problems
Submitted by wergax on Fri, 07/22/2011 - 11:01Hi,
I use Firefox 5.0.1 and FastDial 3.5b1, but i noticed the same error using FastDial 3.4 too...
I prefer see FastDial link first-page when i open Firefox, and for that i check the FastDial option "FastDial in blank tabs" and I set in Firefox a blank tab like first page (or alternative I've setted in Firefox "use current tabs like first page" with a FastDial tab opened).
The error is this:
after my above setting, the first start of Firefox is very slow and after around a minute (before starting to use firefox), Firefox crashed say me that script "Script: chrome://fastdial/content/dom.js:75" doesn't answer. I can stop the script and run Firefox and after press manually FastDial button, or I can press "continue" and pretend that nothing happened =)...
That problem could depends from the number of my "dials" in the page? I use 9 x 5 dials but not all are full...
Thanks.

Re: FD 3.5 problems
Submitted by oroboros74 on Sun, 07/24/2011 - 13:02I'm not quite sure what just happened, but I still see my placemarks with the URLS, but the layout is different (switched around) and I lost the icons I had selected previously for each site.
It would be great to have a way to automatically (or manually) backup all these settings.
Re: FD 3.5 problems
Submitted by c-shark on Mon, 07/25/2011 - 04:54Hi!
I resolved the transparency bug, but only for logos, not for websites snapshots.
It works fine with Win7/Ubuntu 11.04 and FF5, should be work with other versions.
Anyone interested?
