4.3.4 breaks "tab back" in Firefox 22
AutomaticFailure27 Thu, 06/27/2013 - 14:07
I had to revert back to 4.3.3 to be able to tab back while opening a site. 4.3.4 seems to break that features, almost like it is opening a "new tab" in the current tab. Everything seems to work in 4.3.3 just fine on Firefox 22.

Submitted by Efreak15 on Thu, 06/27/2013 - 22:40Do you have any extensions installed that could possibly be conflicting? I have the exact same setup, and I can't reproduce. A screenshot would also be nice. Thanks.

Submitted by Cergorach on Fri, 06/28/2013 - 09:57I have the same problem. If there are indeed conflicting extensions it is strange that they conflict only with 4.3.4 and not with 4.3.3...
I suspect that this is the workaround:

Also changed access to Fast Dial home page to only use the chrome url, not with about:blank. (Now to set Fast Dial as a home page, the user has to use chrome://fastdial/content/fastdial.html) Fixes with help from Telega.

I see absolutely no reason why to upgrade to Fastdial 4.3.4, it fixes nothing that I use and no security fixes, it only breaks things...

Cannot go back to main fast dial page (defined as home page) . Revert back to 433 and works fine with this version.
Re: 4.3.4 breaks "tab back" in Firefox 22
Submitted by telega on Sun, 06/30/2013 - 12:43This change is needed to provide correct Fast Dial work in Firefox 23 and above:
With the latest nightly (23.0a1) Fast Dial does not load in the new tab page. The problem is caused by this error in the error console:
Timestamp: 5/7/2013 12:52:11 PM
Error: Error: Access to 'chrome://fastdial/content/fastdial.html' from script denied
Source File: chrome://fastdial/content/tabloader.js
Line: 68
The side effect is that "back" arrow not active after opening shortcuts from Fast Dial page. But this problem is not caused by Fast Dial. This is the way Firefox works now - it doesn't add to pages history the very first loaded page. When Fast Dial used to load on top of "about:blank" page, it appeared to be the second page loaded, thus added to the pages history. Since some version Firefox introduced a way for new-tab addons to load their pages, and now Fast Dial loads using this mechanism and appears the first page loaded in a tab.

Submitted by Niacin on Fri, 07/05/2013 - 13:11I'm not entirely convinced that this is a Firefox problem as explained above.
I can navigate to any of my Fast Dial tabs from the initial, home page and, as described above, no back tab is available. However, I can then navigate to any other page, or multiple pages and I will then press my Fast Dial button. This takes me to the Fast Dial page with all the available links but I have not gone back to it - this visit is in the middle of other pages visited (let's say for the sake of this example, it was the 5th page used in that particular tab). Now, when I select any other link from this latest Fast Dial page, it navigates away from Fast Dial, again as expected. However, when I look at the back button, Fast Dial does not appear anywhere in that tab's history. You cannot return to page five because it is no longer Fast Dial, it is now whichever other web page you visited.
Briefly then, Fast Dial is not remembered by Firefox, whether it be the initial homepage or it be the nth page into the tab.
