Restoring Tabs
Anjan Thu, 08/21/2008 - 08:40
I use FF 3.0.1
I also use "Tab Mix Plus" and have chosen to restore a session, when the browser starts.. and it was working fine.
I recently installed "Fast Dial 2.1"
Thereafter, whenever the browser starts, it restores the tabs that were open when Firefox was closed last (as earlier).. But, along with them, there is a new 'Fast Dial' tab that is opened.
I would like to see it work this way:
1. When there is no session/tabs to be restored, I would like to see "Fast Dial" tab open instead of a blank new tab
2. When a session/tab has to be restored, I would like only the restored tabs to be opened, but not the "Fast Dial" tab
I hope I am clear in making my point.
I will be grateful for any help.. Thanks!

I do not personally have an answer to your question, but I did see an interesting debate initiated by fstorm on the use of Tab Mix Plus with FD 2 on page 36 of the Mozillazine Forum.
This may be of interest to you.

I'm also using FD 2.1 and TabMixPlus (0.3.7) and I don't seem to have the problem you do. Are you using Tab Mix Plus's session manager? I wonder if you use the Firefox built-in one (as I do) if you'd not have the problem. Go to Tab Mix Plus Options > Session > Check the box for "Use Firefox's built-in Session Restore feature".
Hope that helps!

@Ray
That did the trick :)
I was using Tab Mix Plus's session manager ..and changing it solved the issue.
But I hope to see FD work the same way with TMP's session manager in future versions..
Cheers!
