My first attempt

Hey guys just got Fast Dial today and spent awhile setting it up. Let me know what you think or if you notice anything odd...
Thanks to everyone who posted all these awesome logos (and the background) before. Are there guidelines for what settings to use in Photoshop for the reflect effect? Maybe some standard that we all go by? I'd really like to improve on the EeeUser Forum, Slickdeals, and woot! logos.
Thanks again everyone!

P.S. Yeah I know my website selection is lame but I'm simple like that ;)

Thanks for your post.
I am sort of curious...
I notice that most of the logo descriptions are duplicated in the Cell Title, as they are usually apparent in the Logo.
I wonder have you considered the option of not displaying a cell title at all
Secondly, and of course it is matter of choice, had you not considered too having
a display where the cell boundary was not displayed, or perhaps only on hover.
Or well maybe you like the squares for each cell, a number of users prefer this style.

I had to change the ocean color for the background image to black so it would blend better (the logo borders helped hide the mismatch). I wish there was a way to give the outer boxes borders and leave the two inner ones blank. Anyway the flood fill made a weird halo effect around the Firefox logo, cause I suck at Photoshop. Also got a black Firefox theme to help things all blend better. Not liking the extra fat navigation toolbar tho.. You guys sure you didn't notice anything strange about my first pic? :P

I understand.
Your solution works well.

I wish there was a way to give the outer boxes borders and leave the two inner ones blank
Try the following.
Give your borders a colour so you can see them again.
And then go to Preferences/General and de-select show empty cells.
Hopefully then you should see no more borders in the middle two cells, as the cells should no longer be there.
If not then right click/remove the two cells in the middle.
If you go back to having borders, please have a look at the rounder border settings mentioned below, you may like the effect.

Not liking the extra fat navigation toolbar tho.
I see that you have also made the toolbars darker.
This seems to work well.
Maybe a different theme might alter the toolbar size
You could also try loading Fast Dial Version 2.14 from here.
It has Autohide and only shows the Navigation bar on hover.

Another interesting option for altering a cell when you select it is to alter the values of opacity in Preferences between active and non active cell

How do you like your second Fast Dial Version ?
Seems to have a bit more space don't you think ?
And the world map seems more visible ?

Regarding a question in your first post:
Are there guidelines for what settings to use in Photoshop for the reflect effect? Maybe some standard that we all go by?
Seems like a PhotoShop Tutorial is on the way from Mafi0z
Keep your eyes open.
Should be arriving soon
Probably will be posted here

You guys sure you didn't notice anything strange about my first pic? :P
Are you referring to the fact that it would appear that all of the icons appear to be opaque black, and not transparent ?

Good luck !
