Submitted by Mafia_Penguin on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 01:46although it should work to launch Ubuntu applications, but possibly you have none.
Ubuntu comes installed with OpenOffice, a media player, GIMP, several games, FIREFOX, a mail program, etc.

Thanks
So Launchy should be able to run those applications from Firefox, if the path to the applications can be established, using launchy.xml
Interested to learn about Mark's setup and how he manages things.

Submitted by jmarkybb on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 16:04I presume that you are running Firefox in Ubuntu
And that you are using Fast Dial in Firefox, is that correct.
Yes running Mozilla FF & Fast Dial, running very smoothly, I love it.
How do you manage without your Windows applications?
OK, at the mo, I am looking at using Ubuntu as default, so I am copying all my documents/pics (not music, not enough space)
into Ubuntu via a 4gb USB Stick.
What steps do you have to go though to get into Ubuntu/Firefox.?
Ubuntu comes with FF, addons load OK in Ubuntu.
Have you worked out a way to boot straight into Ubuntu when your computer starts?
Nope, not yet, would like some help on that score.
Not got Launchy yet, only have pre-installed software though.

Submitted by jmarkybb on Wed, 12/10/2008 - 17:17Sorry Mafia,
I am brave enough to a point,
then I just loose my bottle!
I know I have loaded up a new OS, but in all fairness it was a piece of cake,
I suprised myself, but there were a few hairy moments,
non that I want to go through again :-?

It is going to be in a submenu.
