RESOLVED: Can't Move Tiles in Fast Dial 4.2.1 on Firefox 12

Submitted by mr martin on Sat, 05/26/2012 - 14:35.

I am running Fast Dial 4.2.1 on Firefox 12 and cannot move any of the tiles, up/down or right/left.

Fast Dial is set to a configuration of 11 x 10.

In previous versions of Fast Dial and Firefox this function worked fine.

Any fix?

mr martin

Is it possible to say if this is Firefox Version related or Fast Dial Version related ?

Have you tried with all other extensions disabled ?

Many thanks

Many thanks for your reply. I've not only disabled but removed all extensions except Fast Dial and still get the same result.

OK
thanks for the feedback

to understand it would be good to try and reproduce.

so we are talking about drag and drop of the fast dial cells, is that correct ?

if I was in your shoes I would try an earlier version of firefox to see if that resolves.

we have not had this problem reported elsewhere, but there must be a reason.

try for example going to bookmarks/organise bookmarks/ then to bookmarks menu and chose fast dial, right click and select fast dial make home.

that will make certain that we are in the right folder

right now I am not sure what is causing this at all...

here is a long thread on the question of drag and drop

Oh and maybe try fast dial in a completely new profile, to check that your present profile is not corrupted ?

RESOLVED: Can't Move Tiles in Fast Dial 4.2.1 on Firefox 12

Submitted by mr martin on Mon, 05/28/2012 - 01:41.

Through process of elimination I have been able to resolve the problem. I thought the problem was a Fast Dial issue, but it appears it was a screen size issue.

Problem: Moving tiles in Fast Dial using Firefox 12 at varying screen sizes, I could not move tiles up/down between rows or left/right within the same row.

Solution: Pressing CTL + Scroll Wheel on my mouse back/forth will change the browser screen size. After experimenting with varying screen sizes I was able to find a screen size that eliminates the problem of not being able to move tiles in Fast Dial.

Bizarre but my solution is working.

Thanks,
mr martin

Zoom in Firefox

CTRL + 0(zero) seems a useful reset control

or in Firefox

View/Zoom/reset works well too
