fastdial hangs system

i'm using firefox 3.0.5, with fastdial 2.2b on winxp, 2.66ghz cpu, 512mb ram, with nvidia geforce 7100gs.
there's a very serius bug with fd. i've recreated it so many times that i can confidently say it's very serius.
by default fastdial captures a small thumbnail of the website added to any block. when a block is refreshed it takes a while for fastdial to capture the thumbnail. in the meantime, if any other block is right-clicked and any of the popup option is selected, fastdial totally hangs the system. firefox, startmenu, taskbar, system tray, the whole os itself. in one instance, i waited for about one half hour but the system remained hung, with absolutely no response, whatsoever, from keyboard or mouse. not even the taskmanager works. not even the best anticrash software - antifreeze! and this horrible bug not only exists in this beta version, but in all the previus versions too.
the image i've captured could only be done with a cam because of obvius reasons as above. so here's the link. sorry it's only 320x240 as my cell cam is capable only that much. but the bug is recognizable and anyone can recreate it with the steps i've pointed out above.

i'd request telega to rectify this soon before i switch my loyalty. i'm talking about speed dial. not only is it free of any bugs but also loads way faster than fast dial. the only thing speed dial doesn't have is drag'n drop, which telega wrongly claimed as 'faster drag and drop' in 2.22b. in my system, even if i use only fast dial as the addon, it still manages a huge 6sec for a drag'n drop to the adjacent block.
in anticipation of a speedy rectification, thanx in advance to telega.

here're the images to my new firefox profile. i named it 'test'.
Only Fast Dial loaded
Plugins disabled
Default theme running
________________________________________________________
(as above)
http://img525.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fastdialkw6.jpg fastdial screen.
http://img177.imageshack.us/my.php?image=noaddinbe7.jpg no addins.
http://img206.imageshack.us/my.php?image=noplugintw3.jpg no plugins.
http://img161.imageshack.us/my.php?image=nothemegr5.jpg

as you can see it's a plain blank profile with only fastdial enabled, with only 3x3 empty cells.
i right-clicked on the first cell and chose sort> from the popup. i need not repeat that the bug
froze my system.
here's the snap:

i had to snap it from my cell cam for obvious reasons. the bug's there even without any url
added to an empty cell or box or block, whatever one calls it. i guess i've to disable fastdial
for now before i accidentally crash down my system.
in anticipation of an early solution.

i already tried that. the bug's still there. at the start i'd said that it happens only when selecting during thumbnail refresh. but after my last try, i found out that it happens with fastdial default settings, with or without any url adding. means the bug occurs even on blank cells (not on hidden cells though). also, the only thing that freezes the system is when one selects the popups add>, firefox> or sort>, and not the preferences or refresh all options. in other words popup options that contain the mark.

Submitted by Mafia_Penguin on Sat, 01/24/2009 - 02:35Have you tried the FD 2.23b1 (its a beta so expect bugs) @ telega.phpnet.us?
Try backing up with FEBE (http://userlogos.org/node/3442) 1st, before installing the beta.
Note that the search box doesn't work, and other bugs (but in my experience, I must say, I have luck w/ Fast Dial updates: I have never had a bug confined to few, in fact the 1st bug I have noticed is the search bug from FD2.23b1.)

The problem is becoming clearer.
Thanks for your perseverence.

This problem can only be resolved if it can be reproduced.
At the moment it remains unclear as to what aspect of your system up is triggering this.
i'm checking out now at a few of my acquaintances place to see if this bug repeats.

This could prove very interesting..
If the problem does not repeat at your friends house please make a record of his set up.

Are you using any Bookmarks Synchronisation like Foxmarks ?
---
Please on your own System
Please go to Bookmarks/Organise Bookmarks and then to your Fast Dial Folder is in Bookmarks Menu.
Could you right click on the Fast Dial Folder and choose Fast Dial /Make Home.

Thanks

Could you try version 2.23b1 at http://telega.phpnet.us like Mafia_Penguin recommends?

i guess it might exist even with 2.23b1 though i'm a bit apprehensive trying out another beta.
in my honest studying fastdial, i can surely say this is the one, and the only, bug which as
yet remains to be seen by many.
i've got about 20 instances where this bug repeats on 20 different systems all in different
os versions ranging from win2k to vista. i'm surprised why you guys are not able to repeat
the same. maybe it's got something to do with system settings, but i can't confirm that yet.
i've already shown that the problem has to do with fast dial as per my test with a blank
profile (with no other addons) as chiaroscuro asked. if any of you guys can upload a video
showing there's no such problem like i pointed out, i'd be grateful. then, i can start debugging
the problem myself and update you guys if i hit upon something.
many thanx for being with me.

@chiaroscuro
just plain old bookmarks, nothing else.
i did 'fast dial>make home'. here's the screenshot.
i'll be shortly uploading a short video clip showing the problem.

Thanks for all the feedback.
At the moment it would appear that it is not possible to reproduce your problem.

This would be most helpful and is what in a way you are already doing.
