Idk why they're doing this, because FD has way more features and there're a couple of addons going to become superfluous...
here you can see the "new tab" feature.
I hope FD continues as a functional and superior addon, this "new tab" ist just annoying!

that was pretty fast ;)
I tried 4.2 and it's working pretty well...
I'm just curious about the sizing of the cells, in 4.1 all my cells (quantity 18x10, cells --> minsize, 100x75) fill the screen, in version 4.2 I've to scroll down (same quantity/sizing), something got bigger here ;)
Is there any chance of minimizing the surface I don't have to scroll down to the last cells?

Some more elegant than others
How technical are you?
The simplest option short term would be to create a hybrid between 4.1 and 4.2 for your own personal use (but a pain for the future)
Use Autohide to go to fullscreen to increase real estate (try with fixed and unfixed)
Make some folders in there and reduce number of tabs
See if running unfixed in preferences improves matters
Run a stylish script that reduces cell size
Had you something else in mind ?

I'd say just forget my last post, it's pretty simple to fill the screen or fit all the cells.
to zoom out: [CTRL -] or [CTRL Mousewheel down] or zoom in: [CTRL +] or [CTRL Mousewheel up].
I zoomed in (for all my windows) because of a new hdtv monitor, and that's why all my cells got "bigger", by zooming out it's working now.
So, there's no "problem" at all :)

Until we can we can figure out a fix please modify these values in about:config
browser.newtab.url Value:about:blank
browser.newtabpage Value: false
