Early Bon temples included Xiandading Temple, Jiamo Temple, Yongzhong Lading Temple and Yongzhonglin Temple. Among them, Yongzhonglin Temple became one of the main Bon temples left in Tibet. The Tibetan Buddhist temples storing Tibetan deities were gradually established with the spread of Buddhism in Tibet and became the main body of ancient Tibetan architecture. During the Songtsen Gampo period of the Tubo dynasty, Tibet had the Great and Ramoche Temples and 108 shrines, but these were not counted as temples. Until the establishment of the Samye Monastery in 779, there were officially ordained monks in the temple, marking the first temple in Tibet with the three treasures of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Since then, Buddhism has continued to develop and grow in Tibet, and temples have gradually increased. Some of the large temples are often not only places for religious activities, but also political, economic, and cultural centers and gathering places of wealth in some areas. Buddhism has gradually penetrated into Tibet’s economy and culture. Tibetan temples have also developed characteristics that are different from temples in the interior. In addition to religious activities in some larger temples, the practice of Buddhist scriptures is also a major activity. Loselin Dacang at Drepung Monastery, Gizacang at Sera Monastery, etc.
