I have a problem opening Fast Dial in Firefox 3.6.7 and Fast Dial 2.23b2.

I have been running Fast Dial 2.23b2 just fine in Firefox 3.6.7/8

In theory at least Version 2.32b3 addresses specific problems that have been first encountered in Firefox Version 4.0

It is for that reason that it has been limited to Version 4.+ on AMO.

I am using Fast Dial Version 2.23b2 in Firefox 3.6.7/3.6.8 with no problems.

Please could you describe please the exact nature of the problem that you are experiencing so that we can possibly discover the cause.

Perhaps you should try installing the version for 4.0 onto 3.6.8, just to make sure...

Something tells me though that this would be an unlikely solution.

There are no errors in the error console to suggest that the same error is occurring in Fast Dial 2.3b2 running in Firefox 3.6.8, as there was in Firefox Version 4.0.

I think in this case, like others, it is most useful to first try and understand the nature of the problem before suggesting a fix.

It is not at all clear at the moment what problem it is that this user is encountering.
It could have a quite different origin

The fact that I am running version 2.23b2 quite happily in Firefox 3.6.8 suports this thesis.

The problem encountered in Firefox 4.0 was most specific, and was caused as far as can be ascertained by the radically new structure of extensions manager in that Version

It is identical to the problem described in the other thread.

When I open a new tab, it is literally blank. Nothing.

Prior to the update to 3.6.7 it opened a fast dial page.

If I navigate to "chrome://fastdial/content/fastdial.html" or click the "Fast Dial" button, it loads fine.

That's why I didn't create a new thread to begin with, it was exactly the same behaviour as the poster of the original thread.

When I loaded firefox some type of update was installed again (I'm not sure what as I had FF 3.6.7 already) and now everything works. Not quite sure what was happening there. Thanks for the quick response all the same.
