Can't.. change.. my.. darned.. background.. anymore!

Hi. I have FastDial 2.23b1 or whatever the latest is. I think that's the latest.
But, yeah, anyways, I have NOT been able to change the background for ages. I did it many months ago, but after upgrading to 3.5, nothing. It never does anything when I change it. And what is the explanation of the check box next to "image"? Aspect ratio?
Right. So when I select a new image, it doesn't change instanly. Nor after a refresh. Nor after restarting the browser. I use 1920x1080 images (since that's my screen resolution) and the current image is also 1920x1080.
I noticed that the path for the image is wrong/different than what it is supposed to be. It's "chrome://fastdial-profile/content/themes/current/img2.jpg" and not the location of the image which is in My Pictures. And then what's the explanation for "back" and "background"? When do these matter? Changing either one of these to anything else does nothing instantly, nothing after a refresh, and nothing after a browser restart.
Should I just reinstall?

Also, the "back" option is for people with folders-that field determines the back arrow.

Thank you for reporting your difficulties.
As you will see from the link above, I have been experiencing something similar with Firefox 3.6 (but not with Firefox 3.5 !)
[EDIT:This was an error - it was also 3.6]
But, yeah, anyways, I have NOT been able to change the background for ages. I did it many months ago, but after upgrading to 3.5, nothing.
[EDIT should be 3.6]
See if you can load a background to default (when in themes)
If you can, then make a template without a background of your fast dial settings and save it in Themes.
Then when you want a new background, load it into Template and rename accordingly.
And what is the explanation of the check box next to "image"? Aspect ratio?
No, center background or tiled background --
And then what's the explanation for "back" and "background"?
as mentioned above, back is for the back cell logo in folders which can be changed.
Image is for the FD Page background
Should I just reinstall?
You could try, but I do not think that that will resolve.
Please let me know how you get on
many thanks

So, YES, WOW, THANK YOU! Changing the theme to default now allowed me to change the background. w00t!
I made a horrible mistake, though. The first time I tried it (just like you, if you want to change it more than once, you must go back to "default"), it gave me an error about a script? I just hit Continue and then it changed the background for me. On all subsequent attempts, this script error didn't come up. I totally forgot to notate it. :(
Thanks for all the other answers. Is there any way for me to look up this script error? :(

I am glad that you have confirmed in your other post that this problem occurs with 3.6.
Thank you.
I have been waiting for one other user to confirm this.
If you make a template rather than using defaults then you will not have to reset all your other settings.
I should not worry about the script error question, this appears when some process is taking a long time to complete.
No harm will be done. :-)

My suggestion
Make your own default;
That is go to default, enter all your own settings, but do NOT add a background
Save as Template.
Then in future go to template to add a new background.
Saves re-entering your settings
