i have also a problem with gmx. I use Simple Mail daily and last week Simple Mail stopped to work.
I can't check up my emails or write them.
I use a german gmx account and in the image below you can see my settings.
Please help.

Submitted by telega on Sat, 05/16/2009 - 05:54If you have installed Java recently, then check your addons list: Java Quick Starter addon is known to conflict with Simple Mail, you should disable it.
If you have recently specified proxy server in Firefox connection settings, then you should make sure "Use this proxy for all protocols" checkbox should be unchecked.
Otherwise try to remember what has changed what might have caused this error.

The problem was the Java Quick Starter addon.
After I have disabled it, Simple Mail started to work :)
