Fast Dial ingores refresh interval

Hello,
I've set the refresh interval for the thumbnails to 4320 minutes (3 days), since it isn't that important for me to have up-to-date thumbnails of the pages. But Fast Dial doens't seem to follow the rules I've set. It refreshes the thumbnails with every new instance of Firefox, even though the thumbnails are still cached in my profile folder. Is there a way to prevent this?
I've set the Fast Dial page as my homepage and I frequently start new instances of Firefox (I use tabs too, but I find it more convenient to split them over multiple instances). So it's a performance issue for me.
I still use Firefox 2.0.0.16 under Windows XP. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not have an answer to your question,
But I will find out for you.
In the meantime you could maybe set the refresh time to 0, and do a "refresh all" from time to time with a right click in Fast Dial and by selecting "refresh all".
You will get a fuller answer tomorrow.

Take your time with the answer, the solution you provided is a perfect workaround for me. :-)
