Hide Empty Boxes DOES NOT Hide Title Properties
avngr9 Fri, 01/29/2010 - 08:40
Has anyone else noticed that if you have empty boxes and you select "Hide Empty Boxes" on the general tab it will hide the thumbnail but not the title? You can only notice this if the page background color is different from the title or if you have an image selected as your page background. It never used to do this so I don't know what is going on.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Submitted by avngr9 on Fri, 01/29/2010 - 09:15This is frustrating even if you choose the Default theme and have hide empty boxes selected, then change the title color all of a sudden all empty box titles just show up. What happened to this add on?!

Surely there is no title on an empty cell ?

I think you may be referring to the title background rather than the title.
It would seem in fact that this is a bug.
I have always used transparent as the colour of the title background, so this problem has never been apparent.
Maybe you could try this.
Right click on the title background colour selection box and this will give you transparent.
Then choose a title text colour that will allow you to read the title text against your page background.
Or if you prefer you could have transparent title background for normal setting and then coloured title background on hover.(active)
Interestingly enough if you use this setting, even on hover the coloured title background will not appear on empty cells !
many thanks
Thanks for reporting

Yes I was referring to the title background (and border).
For reporting sake I also tried your last suggestion and while this does remove the title background (Normal) they do show up in empty cells when you hover over them as well (Active).
I think I'll just stick to having everything set as transparent for the time being.
It didn't used to do this so I hope with some light shed on the bug it will be addressed in the future.
This is a great add-on for Firefox (I never surf without it). Thanks again.

How strange
For me the title background does not appear on empty cells on hover.
set title background to red for hover (active) (for example)
on all cells red title background is seen on hover
on hover on empty cells no title background is seen
This is on my set up (2.23b1)
which Fast Dial Version are you using ?
This is a great add-on for Firefox (I never surf without it).

many thanks

Submitted by Captain Proton on Sun, 08/29/2010 - 08:04I have the same trouble with the non-hiding title background as described above.
This behavior is annoying me for months now, on several computers (2 x WinXP, 2 x Win7 - german).
I am not quite sure, but I think, the problem came with FastDial v2.22 or v2.23 and is still present with v2.23b2.
Greetings,
Captain Proton

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 08/29/2010 - 08:33Please describe what you wish to do in detail.
Have you read earlier comments in this thread.
Have you tried setting the title background to transparent for example ?
Fast Dial has no developer at that moment, so the important thing is find a workaround to your problem.
