FastDial v3.7 and Firefox v10.0 problems (now resolved)

Hi,
I am having problems using FastDial's latest version (3.7) with the new Firefox (10.0)
I try to install FD from the add-ons mozilla website:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial-5721/versions/
However, I get the message: ''Fast Dial could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 10.0''
I run Windows 7 32bit, and have used FD for several months on this computer.
Thank you

Submitted by Phily47 on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 15:49OK - I removed Fast Dial 3.7 and then went to the AMO (http://addons.mozilla.org). I searched for "Fast Dial". It lists "Fast Dial" and "Fast Dial for All Versions". I tried installing the "Fast Dial for All Versions" and IT WORKED!! When I checked my extensions list, it shows
this: "Fast Dial Fx6 3.6". Anyway, this version of Fast Dial is working for me (for now). I will continue to monitor this forum for further ideas.

The version you installed is a pirate version and does not work with folders or logo transparency.

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 16:01The addon manager has it grayed out and says: "Fast Dial is incompatible with Firefox 10.0" "Fast Dial 3.7 disabled" . Then it only shows the "Remove" box. I checked with a friend who has Firefox 10 and his Fast Dial 3.7 IS working. He has Windows XP and I have Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit sp1. I don't understand why Fast Dial 3.7 worked fine yesterday and this morning (2-01-12) but not now?
Never heard of this sort of behaviour before...
Most strange
What happens in a new profile, is it the same ?
Are there no errors at all?

Are you downloading current Version from AMO
Do you think some bright spark in AMO has changed the settings on AMO or has messed with the code
This would be most untypical without warning..

Submitted by Efreak15 on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 16:04Whenever I install Fast Dial from the AMO page it installs perfectly with no compatibility issues. But with these users it's not compatible somehow.

Hello chiaro,
We have received many reports that your add-on is broken in Firefox 10, and we have corroborated that it doesn't work correctly in it. Your add-on has been added to the list of incompatible add-ons for 10, so that Firefox tells users about it and doesn't enable your add-on.

So it would seem that AMO have messed with the Version 3.7 creating these problems for users.
We need to be absolutely clear that AMO undo whatever mess they have created.
We have had not reports here before this
So maybe somehow AMO has a way of disabling users Extensions remotely. ???
This is really out of order
Our apologies to all.
We will post all details here as we discover what is going on

Submitted by Efreak15 on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 16:24Everyone, please try installing version 4.0: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-dial-5721/versions/4.0
If this doesn't work, I don't know what will.

I have written a mail to Jorge Villalobos asking for futher clarification.
Maybe there is some mechanism via fast dial where AMO can disable addons on users computers.
So maybe not in the code itself
Maybe as you are a developer you are enabled
But this is only supposition.
