fd thumbnail problems
ronanyello Thu, 09/11/2008 - 05:36
i have been using fd since its release on my mac. now on ff3. since fd 2.1, i am having the following problem:
for certain sites (deviantart, ilounge, macworld), i get thumbnails that belong to pages that have not completely finished loading. certain images on the page dont show up, instead i see placeholders.
i suspected certain other addons such as adblock and cooliris were interfereing, and i tried to disable and uninstall them. i deleted old thumbnails from fastdial folder and allowed all images to be generated from the start. i tried java scaling, etc. nothing seems to be useful. can you please help?

It would seem that it is a normal function of Fast Dial Version 2.x to put a limit on the loading time of slower sites, giving the behaviour that you are experiencing.
It is clear that in some cases this limit is inconvenient, like in your case.
As a result of this it is now planned to include a "Slow site" checkbox which will be available in thumbnail preferences.
This will allow the user to override the loading time limit, which would be convenient for users like yourself.
This option will be added to Fast Dial in the near future.
