FD 2.11 will not load icons [FF 3.0.3, Xubuntu 8.04]

The web page previews loaded when I first installed FD. However, new previews will not load nor will icons from Userlogos.org. All I get are multiple throbbers.

I had a similar problem running 2.11 with Firefox 3 and Mac.
My problem was my java installation. Java was not working on my Mac. Once I fixed that, the throbbers went away and icons worked fine.
