By process of elimination, i can confirm that the latest update of Java 6 Update interferes with refreshing the Fast Dial cells.

I think you will find that JRE version 6u7 works fine, and that the problem is only with 6u10

There have been reports that the problem is related to the plugin but not yet confirmed.

Yes, the problem is 6u10.

Yes it would seem so.

Unfortunately, while uninstalling fast dial for troubleshooting purposes, I created problems for firefox browser. I keep getting a "chrome registration" error splash screen. If I keep forcing it, eventually browser opens up normally. Perhaps, the uninstall routine needs to be debugged?

I am not conversant with this sort of error, but will Google it.
There have been no other reports of a similar problem.

Which version was it that you were uninstalling ?

I Googled the chrome registration problem (the splash screen occurs three times) and found that I had to right click the icon and say I was the administrator. I have a Vista machine. This worked out perfect and I don't have a problem.

Yes the Java question, especially if one has 6u7 should give no great handicap.

The developer however is aware of this question and a fix may be forthcoming.
