First of all, if you hold down CTRL, drag and drop should work for moving any Cell in your Root Folder into any Folder Cell in the Root.
You should see the cell disappear into the Folder cell.

- moving the bookmarks using the Bookmarks menu in Firefox. Yes, they are moved to that folder, but only reachable through the Bookmarks menu... They don't appear in the Fast Dial page when I open the corresponding folder (icon).

Have you tried refreshing the page in Firefox, while in the Folder ?
Or refresh all

Because to me, I think this is the biggest feature, being able to have hundreds of bookmarks organised in folders, all visual...

Well exactly
Fast Dial is made so that you can move cells to and from Folders quite easily.

Maybe last time I didn't check? I don't know, it may be because with 2.14 everytime I add a bookmark to Fast Dial, I need to refresh the page to see it (didn't happen with 2.11

You are quite correct. This was not the case with 2.11, but is the case with 2.14. This is not a bug, but how this version behaves.

Another issue... this has happened to me in all my n installations of 2.14. When selecting "Add to Fast Dial" from the context menu in tabs, there is no entry in the submenu at all (just that tiny square, indicating that the submenu is empty?). So I can't select any action there...

Testing in 2.14, I found that no folder option was offered in Add to Fast Dial in the Tab context menu.
I think it is a bug.
I have reported it.

I did find however that the folder option was available in the main context menu, with Add to Fast Dial.

Is that the same for you.
Maybe you could use that option for the moment, until this question is resolved.

Also, I've read previous posts (I'm aware of the workarounds) and I agree with those saying that the mini Google bar and the auto-hiding thing should be customizable in next versions... Especially this one, is really annoying and... does it have to do anything with the Fast Dial purposes?

Yes these questions are being looked into for the next Version.
In some ways v2.14 was a little like a beta version.
