Suggestion: Fast Dial Toolbar!

hey all. i just came up with what i think is a very interesting concept..
Wouldnt it be cool, if Fast Dial came with a Toolbar Mode Option?
So that a user could enable the fast dial toolbar, and have some or all of his links(cells) in the toolbar, as icons?
Then there would be an area on the site where users can share toolbar icons..!
I have created a picture of the concept to help explain (click to enlarge) :
NOTICE: The above image is Photoshopped, and is FAKE! As i said this is a suggestion, not a feature yet!
WARNING! This is in no way guaranteed to become a feature of Fast Dial! It is a concept that MAY be implemented!
SO, what do you guys think?

If I make a request for logos, make it on a transparent background.

I would like two different FD's... one for about:blank and one for toolbars...

Big thumbnails are what we(at least me) like on FD not another "favorites" bar.
Isn't pressing Ctrl+T quick enough ?
Its my opinion.

I think I sort of agree.
One click on the Fast Dial Toolbar is sort of fine with me.
I like getting back to the Fast Dial Page.
I think I would miss it otherwise.

Submitted by Kaelri on Wed, 11/19/2008 - 09:17You can get exactly the same effect by putting a bookmark on your Bookmarks Toolbar and giving it a blank name.
Granted, they're a little smaller, and you're stuck with the site's favicon. But as far as usability is concerned, what you're looking for is already built into Firefox.
Not that I have any authority to speak on this, but as a user, the reason I value Fast Dial is in the name: it's fast. Its strength is in taking over the blank tab. Most people have a "New Tab" button on their toolbars. Those who don't just press Ctrl-T. Both methods are a lot faster than menus and hovering frames. You guys are all rightfully excited about Fast Dial's potential, but I think it's important to be very discriminatory when deciding what to add to the actual extension. Fast Dial shouldn't do everything. I've seen extensions that try to do a full-browser makeover all by themselves, and it's never been pretty - they don't play nice with other extensions, they're limited by the designer's personal vision of the browsing experience, and the feature bloat slows performance down to a crawl. Extensions work best (and are most successful with users) when they're simple, efficient, and modular. And that's what Fast Dial is right now.
